Cumquats and Ottomans

Never a dull moment it seems.

I left my key & badge for work at home today so that made for a challenging day but I survived.

Came home to new furniture...I now find myself living in a tiny 2 bedroom apartment with 3 ottomans. I love it!

Had a friend offer to take April and I shopping and had a blast. We were at this new grocery store eating gelatto while shopping (I highly recommend it!) and the discussion turned to cumquats.

The entire drive home was spent laughing about using cumquat in everyday conversations. "He was such a cumquat" or "It's a cumquatty kind of day today".

Suprising

So turns out I like having a roommate. Granted I've only had one for 2 1/2 weeks...but it's kind of nice!

We've cooked some great recipes. We've gone to Church together. It's been nice. (I still LOVE my alone time...but we're both busy so it hasn't been deal).

We've even survived my PMS...which let's face it. That's a miracle in its own.

Anyway - Friday we're going to a sushi making party Friday which should be fun!

V-Day in the City

I took a different approach to this Valentines day. I woke up in a good mood, put on pink and fought away the blues. And it worked!

My favorite friend sent me a link to a very appropriate blog post - you can read it here. It read like a page from my journal...or a future journal as this gal is 42.

My friend and I both gasped (via email) in fear. We don't want this to be us!

So dear Chicago. As this is MY year - I am determined to make the most of it. I am determined to get out every-single-day and see what the world has out there.

So far so good -

Went to watch basketball with some college friends and had a blast! Nothing too earth shattering, it was just nice being out and about and meeting new people.

Who knows what tomorrow has in store!

I decided the old blog was getting a tad on the depressing side and who wants to read that anyway! So I've restarted my blog and am going to be a bit more focused. So here goes. Let the adventures start!
